3. Insert the oil tube nozzle into the lower oil plug hole, and fill with gear oil
by squeezing the oil tube until oil flows out of the upper plug hole.

4. Replace the oil plug gasket with a new one. Install the upper oil plug, and
then remove oil tube nozzle and install the lower oil plug.
NOTE: Use Mercury or Quicksilver gear oil or the recommended gear oil (API
GL‑5:SAE #80 to #90). Required volume: approx. 195 mL
Submerged Outboard
A submerged outboard will require service within a few hours by an authorized
dealer once the outboard is recovered from the water. This immediate attention
by a servicing dealer is necessary once the engine is exposed to the
atmosphere to minimize internal corrosion damage to the engine.
