ENGINE OIL AND FILTER
WARNING: To prevent personal injury or death, wear
safety glasses and avoid moving components such as fans,
pulleys, and belts when taking an engine oil sample.
Engine oil sampling can be utilized for the follo wing:
Engine Oil Sampling - Optional
1. Determine oil change interval based upon fuel
consumption and specific engine a pplication.
2. Catch contaminates which, if left unattended, may result
in engine failure.
Service Interval (based upon fuel consumption and specific
engine application) :
If > 8.5 m iles pe r gallon of fuel:
See charts for specific engine family and servic e interval.
If 4.5 to 8.5 miles per gallon of fuel:
See charts for specific engine family and servic e interval.
If < 4.5 m iles pe r gallon of fuel:
See charts for specific engine family and servic e interval.
CAUTION: To prevent engine damage , do not extend
recommended oil change intervals.
