Avoidinjurybydoingthefollowing:

Atregularintervals,checkthatthenutsandboltsare
tightasperthespeciedtighteningtorque.
•
Checkthepivotpins,washersandholders.Replace
missingparts.
•
Tightenallthescrewsandallfastenerstothevalues
speciedinthetable.Refertopage6-3expectin
thecaseswherethetighteningtorqueisspeciedin
theassemblyinstructions.
•
Thetorquesapplytoclean,drythreads.Lubri-
catedthreadscanleadtothejointbeingtightened
toostrongly.Damagedordirtythreadscancause
torquevaluestobetoolow.
•
Atorqueampliermaybeneededwhentightening
screwstohightorquevalues.
•
Tighteningtorquesshouldbecheckedimmediately
afterinstallation,andseveraltimesafterashortpe-
riodofuse.Incorrecttighteningcandamagethe
structureofthebackhoeand/ortractor.

Hydraulicuidordieselfuelleakingunderpressurecanpenetratetheskinandcauseinfectionor
otherinjury.Topreventpersonalinjury:Relieveallpressurebeforedisconnectinguidlinesorper-
formingworkonthehydraulicsystem.Beforeapplyingpressure,makesureallconnectionsaretight
andallcomponentsareingoodcondition.Neveruseyourhandtocheckforsuspectedleaksunder
pressure.Useapieceofcardboardorwoodforthispurpose.Ifinjuredbyleakinguid,seeyour
doctorimmediately.
Failuretocomplycouldresultindeathorseriousinjury.
