MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION
Lubrication Recommendations
Transmission Oil
Always check and change the transmission
oil at t he interval s outlined in the P eriodic
Maintenance Chart beginning on page 73.
Maintain the oil level 1 5/8” from the top of
the fill hole. We recommend the use of
Premium AGL Synthetic Gearcase
Lubricant. See page 119 for the part numbers
of Polaris products.
Oil Check
The transmission fill plug (1) is located on the right
side of the machine, behind the footwell.
1. Position the ATV on a level surface.
2. Remove the fill plug.
3. Check the oil level.
4. Add the recommended oil as needed.
5. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
Oil Change
The transmission drain plug (2) is locat ed on the
bottom l eft-hand side of the machine, behind
the footwell.
1. Remove the fill plug.
2. Remove the transmission drain plug and
drain the oil into an appropriate container.
Discard used oil properly.
3. Clean and reinstall the drain plug.
Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
4. Add 13. 5 oz. (400 ml) of the recommended oil.
5. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
6. Check for leaks.
