LED LED Color LED Status
•TX (Transmit) •Yellow •Illuminates when
VHF transmits.
•AIS •Red •Illuminates when
data is received.
•ON •Green •Solid Green if
power is present
on the unit.

•COG •Course Over Ground - used as a GPS
related term
•SOG •Speed Over Ground - used as a GPS
related term
•CPA •Closest Point of Approach (An estimation of
the closest a target will potentially come to
you)
•TCPA •Time to Closest Point of Approach (How
long before target reaches that point)
•AIS •Automatic Identification System
•MMSI •Maritime Mobile Service Identity
•IMO •International Maritime Organization
•MARPA •Miniature Automated Radar Plotting Aid
•SOLAS •The International Convention for the Safety
Of Life At Sea. (This is a treaty protecting
the safety of merchant ships).
