Troubleshooting
Most problems you encounter with your remote control can be corrected by
consulting the following troubleshooting list.
Remote control will not turn on or operate the Internet Receiver
Something might be between the remote and the remote sensor on the
component. Make sure there is a clear path.
Make sure the batteries in your remote control are inserted correctly. Install
new batteries if necessary. Or, if you have both a remote control and a
keyboard, try turning on the Internet Receiver with one, then the other.
Point your remote control directly at your Internet Receiver, not at your
television. If your Internet Receiver is not visible from where you want to
operate it, move it to where it is visible and try turning it on again. The
Internet Receiver should be within 10 feet of your remote control, and there
should not be any obstructions between the Internet Receiver and the remote.
If you have glass doors on an entertainment center, try opening the doors so
the remote can communicate with the Internet Receiver.
You might need to drain the remote’s microprocessor: remove batteries and
press the number 1 button for at least 60 seconds. Release the 1 button,
replace the batteries, and (if necessary) program the remote again.
Buttons don’t work
Press the MSNTV button rst to make sure the remote is in MSNTV mode.
If you are trying to operate a device other than the Internet Receiver (that
you have programmed the remote to control) make sure you press the
corresponding device button (DVD, VCR, etc.) rst.
