audio

cassettes

Demagnetization
Before
any
alignment
work
and
in
intervals
of
every
few
weeks,
the
cassette
recorder
should
be
demagnetized.
Switch
the
cassette
recorder
off,
make
sure
that
no
cas-
sette
is
in
the
compartment
and
that
no
cassettes
are
lo-
cated
in
the
vicinity
of
the
recorder.
Slowly
approach
but
do
not
contact
the
part
to
be
demagnetized
with
the
tip
of
the
choke
and
after
a
short
moment
slowly
retract
the
choke;
or
with
a
regulating
transformer
slowly
increase
the
choke
voltage
to
maximum
and
back
to
minimum.
This
procedure
is
to
be
performed
for
all
metal
parts
(sound
heads,
tape
guides)
that
come
in
contact
with
the
tape.
Before
you
switch
off
the
choke
remove
it
at
least
50
cm
from
the
cassette
recorder.
