WIDE NOZZLE (Fig. 12) (Optional accessory)
By attaching the wide nozzle (26) to the end of the nozzle, debris can be
cleared from a wide area.
The wide nozzle can be easily attached to the end of the nozzle.
EXTENSION CORD (Fig. 13)
MAKE SURE THE EXTENSION CORD SET IS IN GOOD CONDITION.
1. Use an appropriate extension cord the connect to power. See
“ELECTRICAL SAFETY WARNINGS” for recommended cords.
2. Secure the extension cord to the motor housing as shown in fig. 13.
OPERATING
NEVER COVER AIR VENTS (27) SINCE THEY MUST ALWAYS BE
OPEN FOR PROPER MOTOR COOLING. (Fig.14)
WARNING!
Do not use on a wet surface or in the rain.
Set the mode change-over lever (28) to the blower mode or vacuum
mode. When the lever is in the REAR position, the appliance is in the
vacuum mode (Fig. 15), and when the lever is in the FRONT position, the
appliance is in the blower mode. (Fig. 16)
CAUTION! (Fig. 17)
Do not use the appliance when the lever is set in a halfway position.
When using the appliance in the vacuum mode, turn the mode change-
over lever all the way to the back side.
When using the appliance in the blower mode, turn the mode change-
over lever all the way to the front side.
OPERATING AS A BLOWER (Fig. 18,19,20)
Set the mode change-over lever to the FRONT position (blower mode).
Hold the appliance as shown in Fig. 18, 19 and 20 and sweep from side
to side with the nozzle a few inches above the ground or floor. Move the
appliance slowly, while accumulating a pile of debris.
1. Use the appliance as a blower for trees, shrubs, flower beds and
hard to clean areas. (Fig. 18)
2. Use the appliance as a blower around buildings and for other normal
cleaning. (Fig. 19)
3. Use the appliance as a blower for walls, overhangs and screens.

OPERATING AS A VACUUM (Fig. 21,22)
Set the mode change-over lever to the REAR position (vacuum mode).
Hold the appliance as shown in Fig. 21, tilting the nozzle slightly, and use
a sweeping action to collect light debris.
The debris will flow into the dust bag. Things such as leaves and small
twigs will be mulched as they pass through the fan housing, allowing the
dust bag to hold a lot of debris (Fig. 22).
When the dust bag gets full, suction will noticeably decrease. Turn off
and unplug the appliance before you unzip the dust bag.
Unzip the bag and empty the contents before continuing.
WARNING!
When the impeller in the motor housing is clogged with twigs, nylon bags,
etc, turn off and unplug the appliance, remove the nozzle and then
remove the obstruction.
MAINTENANCE
After use, check the appliance to make sure that it is in top condition.
It is recommended that you take this appliance to a RYOBI Authorized
Service Center for a thorough cleaning and lubrication at least once a
year.
DO NOT MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS WHILE THE MOTOR IS IN
MOTION.
CLEANING THE APPLIANCE
1. Use a small brush to keep the air vents free of obstructions.
2. Do not use any strong detergents on the plastic housing or the
handle. They can be damaged by certain household cleaners that
contain aromatic oils such as pine and lemon, and by solvents such
as kerosene. Moisture can also cause electric shocks. Wipe off any
moisture with a soft cloth.
CLEANING THE DUST BAG
1. Empty the dust bag after each use to avoid deterioration and
obstruction of the air flow which will reduce the performance of the
appliance.
2. Clean the dust bag as needed. With eye protection on, turn the dust
bag inside out after initial emptying and vigorously shake out the
dust and debris.

an AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER or other QUALIFIED SERVICE
ORGANIZATION.

Lesen Sie vor der Benutzung des Gerätes alle Anleitungen genauestens durch und

1. Lassen Sie das Gerät niemals an das Stromnetz angeschlossen, wenn Sie es

Verbindungskabel von Wärmequellen fern.
8. Ziehen Sie nicht am Kabel, um das Gerät vom Netz zu trennen; ziehen Sie
den Stecker aus der Steckdose, nicht das Kabel.
9. Greifen Sie Stecker oder Gerät nie mit feuchten Händen an.
10. Führen Sie keine Gegenstände in die Öffnungen ein. Benutzen Sie das Gerät
nicht, wenn die Lufteinlässe verstopft sind. Entfernen Sie Staub, Rückstände
und Abfälle, die den Lufteinlaß beeinträchtigen können.
11. Halten Sie Haare, weite Kleidung, Finger und andere Körperteile in sicherer
Entfernung von Öffnungen und sich bewegenden Geräteteilen.
12. Saugen Sie keine Stoffe auf, die brennen oder glimmen: Zigaretten,
Streichhölzer, heiße Asche.
13. Wenn Sie das Gerät als Sauger benutzen, achten Sie darauf, daß der Beutel
ordnungsgemäß eingesetzt ist.
14. Pumpen Sie keine entzündlichen oder brennbaren Flüssigkeiten, wie z.B.
Benzin, an. Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht an Stellen, wo derartige Flüssigkeiten
vorhanden sein können. Saugen Sie keine Flüssigkeiten an.
15. Deaktivieren Sie sämtliche Gerätefunktionen, bevor Sie das Gerät ausschalten.
16. Seien Sie beim Arbeiten auf einer Treppe besonders vorsichtig.
