4.1.3 Guidelines for Problem-Free Installation
The guidelines are the same as those for the connected control systems.
4.1.4 Connecting Shielded Cables
This section describes how to connect the shield of shielded signal cables to
ground. The connection to ground is via a ground strip that connects the shield
directly to the ground of the C7 input/output module.
Assemble
the grounding strip and the
shield clips shipped with the C7 input/output
module as follows:
1. If fitted, remove the grounding bar of the C7 control system. Fit the u-shaped
grounding strip as shown in the following diagram and secure it with the
supplied screws.
The L-shaped grounding strip is screwed at the lower edge to the back of the
C7 input/output module.
Use: To ground universal inputs.
2. Fit the shield clips to the grounding strip as shown in the following diagram.
3. Press
the stripped cable into the shield clips so that the shield of the cable makes
optimum contact.
