Mower Cutting Height Adjustment
Mower cutting height can be changed by turning the Dial-
A-Cut control (C, Figure 12). Turn the control knob
clockwise to raise the mower cutting height and counter-
clockwise to lower mower. Pulling back slightly on the
mower lift lever (A) will take mower weight off the control
knob and allow for easier turning.
Pull back on the mower lift lever (A) and move into the
transport gate on the quadrant (B) as to place mower in
the transport position.
The exact cutting height of the mower blades will depend
on ground contour. A cutting height scale is provided on
the quadrant (B) and is intended to be for reference only.
BURNISHING THE ELECTRIC
CLUTCH
Before the electric clutch is used for the first time, it
should be burnished as follows.
1.Start the engine and set at full throttle.
2.Turn the front electric clutch switch to ON position,
leave on for 15 seconds, then turn off.
3.Do this ten times to burnish the clutch.

PURGING AIR FROM
HYDRO TRANSAXLE
Air may become trapped in the inlet hydraulic filter or
closed loop passages of the hydro transaxle during
assembly. It is very important for proper operation to
release any trapped air that may cause damage to the
internal transaxle parts.
1.Park the rider on a flat, level surface.
2.Place the hydro release lever (Figure 13) in the
“PUSH” position by pulling rearward on the lever.
The lever is located under the rear right-hand corner
of the frame.
3.Start the rider engine and run at low idle.
4.Move the ground speed control lever from the neutral
position to the full forward position for five seconds.
Move lever to the full reverse position for five sec-
onds. Repeat this procedure three times in forward
and reverse direction.
5.Return the control lever to the neutral gate.
6.Place the hydro release lever (A) in the “DRIVE” posi-
tion by pushing lever fully forward.
7.Drive the rider at least five feet in the forward and
reverse directions with full throttle and full ground
speed. Repeat this procedure three times in the for-
ward and reverse directions.
Repeat the above steps if rider has noisy or erratic oper-
ation, or lack of performance after transmission warm-up.
CAUTION
Failure to purge air from hydro transaxle may
result in poor rider operation and damage to
internal transaxle parts.
