One Touch Play feature
Press <I or > (on deck B ) (or ~@f or
Bon the remote commander) when the
power is off.
When a tape is in the player, you will
immediately be able to listen to the tape
without pressing any other buttons.
When a tape is not in the player, only the
power will be turned on.
Recording a CD
You can record from a CD toa tape. Use
TYPE I (normal) or TYPE II (CrO2) tape.
Do not use TYPE IV (metal) tape for
recording.
To listen to other sources while recording,
you must stop recording.
Recording a CD
Automatically
By using CD SYNCHRO button, you can
record from a CD to a tape quickly. Use the
buttons on the unit to do this operation.
POWER-*ON
1 Press & OPEN/CLOSE and place a CD.
Then, press 2 OPEN/CLOSE again to
close the CD tray.
Total number of tracks, the total playing
time appear in the display.
2 Press @ and insert a blank tape into
deck B.
Make sure the tabs on the cassette have
not been removed.
3 Select dual or single-sided recording.

* Recording always stops at the end of the
reverse side. Be sure to start from the
front side.
4 when you want to reduce the hiss noise
in low-level high-frequency signals, set
DOLBY NR to ON.
5 press CD SYNCHRO.
Deck B stands by for recording.

The C (for front side) or <I (for
reverse side) lamp lights steadily to
show you which side will start
recording. The other lamp flashes for a
few seconds, then disappears.
Side in recording
pause mode
G ifthe lamp for the side you want to start
recording does not light, press > or <J
to light the side you want to start
recording. If it lights, skip to step 7.
7 Press 00 PAUSE on the tape player to
release recording pause.
Recording starts. After about 10
seconds, the CD starts playing.
To stop recording
Press @ on deck B or the CD player.
What the (> and <J lamps indicate
The > and <<] lamps light to indicate
which side starts recording.
They also tell you if a tab has been
removed.
When deck B is in either the recording or
the recording pause mode
All the buttons on deck A are deactivated.
Pressing any button on deck A makes REC
lamp to flash.
if you press @ REC or CD CYNCHRO while
deck A is activated
Deck A stops operating and deck B enters
the recording pause mode.
if one lamp lights steadily and the other
lamp flashes for a few seconds, then
disappears
This means that recording will start from
the side which the lamp lights steadily. If
you want to start recording from the other
side, press the other side button.
if one lamp lights steadily and the other
lamp neither lights nor flashes
This means that you can record on only the
side which the lamp lights steadily. (The
tab on the other side has been removed.)
tf one lamp flashes steadily and the other
lamp neither lights nor flashes
This means that you can record on only the
side which the lamp flashes steadily.
Switch sides to start recording by pressing
the button whose lamp flashes.
if both lamps neither light nor flash
It means that you cannot record on this
cassette. (Both tabs have been removed.)
Adjusting the volume or the audio
emphasis will not affect the recording level
But these controls will change the sound
levels you hear through speakers or
headphones.
When you record from a CD without space
between tracks
Record on manual recording (see
“Recording a CD Manually”). When you
use the CD SYNCHRO button, the recorded
tape has three-second blanks between the
tracks automatically.
Recording a CD Manually
You can record a CD as you like, for
instance, by recording just the songs you
want or record from the middle of the tape.
POWER-—-ON
1 Press & OPEN/CLOSE and place a CD.
Then, press 2 OPEN/CLOSE again to
close the tray.
