- Check insulation of field coils.
Note: Install a new stator if
insulation is damaged.
- Check condition of stator’s inner
running surface. Replace stator if
necessary.
Place stator in position. Use
screwdriver (1) 5910 890 2400 to
press stator home as far as stop.
Warning! Make sure wires for
carbon brushes are not pinched
in this process.
- Fit stator mounting screws and
tighten to 3.0 Nm (3.0 lbf.ft).
Installation is now a reversal of the
removal sequence.
- Remove the chain sprocket
cover - see 4.1.
Use screwdriver to remove
E-clip (1).
Remove the washer (2).
Pull the chain sprocket off the
shaft.
Remove the washer.
Install in the reverse sequence.
- Remove the handle housing -
see 4.1.
Pull the spur gear out of the oil
pump.
Remove washer if it is still
sticking to the spur gear.
Take thrust washer off the ring
gear shaft.
