Testing
1. With the gauge still connected to the harness, turn
the key to the “RUN” position.
2. Using a VOM, set scale capable of reading 12
volts D.C., connect the negative lead to ground
(Figure 4) to verify the conditions in the table
below.
* All voltage readings should be within 20%.

Purpose
This gauge indicates the voltage across the battery
(Figure 5).
How it Works
The meter movement moves proportional to the
voltage level across the two terminals of the battery.
This is accomplished by placing a resistor in parallel
with the meter movement.
