Idling
For engine idle revolutions, refer to the Engines
section. Low idle revolutions may cause the engine to
stall, while higher idle revolutions cause extra stress
on the drive/reverse gear during shifting maneuvers.
Adjustment must be made while the engine is warm.
1 Put the control lever in neutral.
Check that the gap (A) is around 3 mm.
Undo locknut (B) and adjust screw (C) to give the
correct gap. Tighten the locknut.
(1)
2 Start the engine and let it idle with the control lever
in the neutral position.
WARNING!
Working with or approaching a running engine is a
safety risk. Watch out for rotating components and hot
surfaces.
3 Undo the locknut (D). Adjust to the correct
revolutions using the adjuster screw (E). Tighten
the lock nut.
4 Repeat item 1.
1. This item does not apply to boats with twin helm stations.
