E. CONNECTING THE CABLE TO THE
OUTBOARD MOTOR
1. Connecting the throttle cable to the
outboard motor.
115~225-hp
1) Install the motor’s throttle cable in the
outboard motor.
Again, when doing this, pull slightly on
the cable to eliminate any backlash
when installing. This will ensure that the
throttle returns correctly idle.
In stall the throttle cable while pulling it in
the direction of F2 with the throttle arm
pressed by finger in the direction of F1.
(This is done to ensure the proper “fully
closed” position of the throttle lever of the
outboard.) At this time, check that the cable
groove fits in the cable C hub groove.
When changing the cable end piece posi-
tion. It should be screwed in at least 8mm.
2) Secure the cable.
250-hp
1) Adjust the throttle roller installation
position so the roller contacts the
accelerator cam at the alignment mark.
Then connect the throttle cable to the
outboard motor.
