• During extreme or unusual conditions (i.e. blocked
condensercoils,ambientabovescheduledmaximum,
etc.)thechillercontrolsystemwillavoidsafetyshut-
downbyvaryingthechillercontrolsandcoolingload
output to stay online and avoid safety limits being
reached.Thisallowsmaximumpossiblecoolingca-
pacityuntiltheunusualconditionisclearedandavoids
costlyshutdowns.Thesystemmonitorsthefollowing
parametersandmaintainsthemaximumcoolingoutput
possible without shutdown of the equipment: motor
current,suctionpressureanddischargepressure.
• SystemSafetiesareprovidedforindividualcompres-
sorsystemstoperformauto-resetshutdown(manual
resetrequiredafterthethirdtripin90minutes).Safe-
tiesinclude:highdischargepressureortemperature,
low suction pressure, high/low motor current, high
motor temperature, high pressure switch, high/low
differentialoilpressure,highoiltemperature,lowsuc-
tionsuperheat,criticalsensormalfunction,loworhigh
current,phaseloss/singlephasepower,overloadof
motorwindings,andlowvoltage.
• UnitSafetiesareprovidedforthechillertoperform
auto-resetshutdownforthefollowingconditions:high
orlowambient,lowleavingchilledliquidtemperature,
undervoltage,andowswitchoperation.
COMPLETE FACTORY PACKAGE
• Theseair-cooledchillersareshippedasacomplete
factorypackage.Eachunitiscompletelyassembled
withallinterconnectingrefrigerantpipingandinternal
wiring,readyforeldinstallation:
• Eachcompressorisinstalledonitsownindependent
refrigerant circuit, which is factory pressure tested,
evacuated,thenfullychargedwithHFC-134arefriger-
antandoil.
• Afterassembly,anoperationaltestisperformedwith
waterowingthroughthecoolertoensureeachcircuit
operatescorrectly.
• Unit panels, structural elements, control boxes and
heavy gauge structural base shall be constructed
of galvanized steel. Unit panels, control boxes and
structuralbasearenishedwithabakedonpowder
paint.Allpaintedsurfacesshallbecoatedwithbaked
onpowderpaintwhich,whensubjecttoASTMB117,
1,000hour,5%saltspraytest,yieldsminimumASTM
1654ratingof“6”.
• DesignisIAWapplicablesectionsofASMEPressure
VesselCode,NFPA70(NationalElectricalCode),U.L.
and cU.L. standards andASHRAE/ANSI-15 Safety
CodeforMechanicalRefrigeration.
• Design is IAWASHRAE 90.1 Energy Standard for
Buildingexcept Low-RiseResidentialBuildings and
AHRI70SoundRatingofLargeOutdoorRefrigeration
andAirConditioningEquipment.
• YCIVchillersaredesignedwithinENISO9001and
builtwithinanENISO9002accreditedmanufacturing
organization.
• Allexposedpowerwiringroutedthroughliquid-tight,
UV-stabilized,non-metallicconduit.
• Whenrequired,50Hzchillershavetheoptionavailable
