2.05 POWER AND ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
A.Power/ControlPanel:
1. NEMA 3R (IP55), powder painted steel cabi-
nets with hinged, latched, and gasket sealed
outerdoorsequippedwithwindstrutsforsafer
servicing. Provide main power connection(s),
compressorstartersandfanmotorcontactors,
currentoverloads,andfactorywiring.
2. Panelshallincludecontroldisplayaccessdoor.
B.SinglePointPower(Asstandardfor2and3compres-
sorchillers)
1. Providesinglepointpowerconnectiontochiller,
shallbe3phaseofscheduledvoltage.
2. TerminalBlockconnectionsshallbeprovidedat
thepointofincomingsinglepointconnection.
C.ControlTransformer:Powerpanelshallbesupplied
withafactorymountedandwiredcontroltransformer
thatwillsupplyallunitcontrolvoltagefromthemain
unitpowersupply.Transformershallutilizescheduled
linevoltageontheprimarysideandprovide115V/1Ø
onsecondary.
D.ShortCircuitWithstandRatingofthechillerelectrical
enclosureshallbe(380,400,&460V:65,000Amps).

E. MotorStarters:Motorsstartersshallbereducedinrush
type(Wye-DeltaorSolidState)forminimumelectrical
inrush.Acrossthelinetypestarterswillnotbeaccept-
able.
F. PowerFactor:
1. Provideequipmentwithpowerfactorcorrection
capacitors as required to maintain a displace-
mentpowerfactorof95%atallloadconditions.
2. The installing contractor is responsible for ad-
ditionalcosttofurnishandinstallpowerfactor
correction capacitors if they are not factory
mountedandwired.
G. Exposedcompressorandfanmotorpowerwiringshall
beroutedthroughliquidtightconduit.
2.06 CONTROLS
A.General:
1. Provide automatic control of chiller operation
includingcompressorstart/stopandload/unload,
anti-recycletimers,condenserfans,evaporator
pump,evaporatorheater,unitalarmcontactsand
runsignalcontacts.
2. Chillershallautomaticallyresettonormalchiller
operationafterpowerfailure.
3. Unitoperatingsoftwareshallbestoredinnon-
volatilememory.Fieldprogrammedsetpoints
shallberetainedinlithiumbatterybackedregu-
latedtimeclock(RTC)memoryforminimum5
years.
4. Alarmcontactsshallbeprovidedtoremotealert
foranyunitorsystemsafetyfault.
B.DisplayandKeypad:
1. Provide minimum 80 character liquid crystal
display that is both viewable in direct sunlight
andhasLEDbacklightingfornighttimeviewing.
Provideonekeypadanddisplaypanelperchiller.
2. Displayandkeypadshallbeaccessiblethrough
displayaccessdoorwithoutopeningmaincon-
trol/electricalcabinetdoors.
3. Displayshallprovideaminimumofunitsetpoints,
status,electricaldata,temperaturedata,pres-
sures,safetylockoutsanddiagnosticswithout
theuseofacodeddisplay.
4. Descriptions in English (or available language
options), numeric data in English (or Metric)
units.
5. SealedkeypadshallincludeunitOn/Offswitch.
C. ProgrammableSetpoints(withinManufacturerlimits):
