SAM600 modules ship with factory default settings. All settings are at their default values (see
table
Parameter settings
in the SAM600 engineering manual for default value of each settable
parameter). In factory default settings, SAM600 modules do not send any sampled value
streams to any port. The HMI flashes to indicate the
Wait for Configuration
state.
The user has to create a configuration for the SAM600 system, and write the configuration to
the SAM600 modules in order to switch on their sampling and merging functionality. The
process for creating and downloading a configuration is described in the SAM600 Engineering
Manual (1MRK 511 433-UEN).
In factory default settings, SAM600 modules do not publish sampled value
streams.
Inappropriate settings on the SAM600 modules may lead to misbehavior in
protection and control applications due to wrong information transmitted in
the IEC/UCA 61850-9-2LE sampled value streams.
Before powering on a SAM600 module, check the firm wiring of analog and
digital inputs. Verify firm grounding of SAM600 modules.
SAM600 modules will restart once the configuration is applied, activate all parameter settings,
port configurations and SV configurations which are contained in the configuration and then
start-up the SAM600 sampling and merging functionality. Steady light of the HMI indicates the
Normal Operation
state. A new configuration is subject to verification against the physical
SAM600 system topology, see
Section 2.3.12.
If a configuration has been downloaded to a SAM600 module, the same configuration is
applied each time the SAM600 module starts up.
If the command
Reset to factory default
is applied then the SAM600 module
will be reset to its factory defaults and it will restart into the
Wait for
Configuration
state as described above.
The SAM600 modules in a SAM600 system can be powered on in arbitrary order. The SAM600
modules will synchronize and automatically detect IEC/UCA 61850-9-2LE sampled value
streams on the SAM600 system bus. If a valid configuration is available, the SAM600 module
starts sampling the analog input values and publishes IEC/UCA 61850-9-2LE sampled value
streams according to its configuration.
During 60 seconds after initialization the sample quality of the locally
measured quantity (current or voltage) is forced to
