14.3 Cleaning the AST cap
Follow a weekly cleaning regime using a cloth moistened with 70 %
ethanol or 70 % isopropanol (available in pharmacies). In addition,
thoroughly wipe the inside of the AST cap using a cotton bud moistened
with one of the two cleaning fluids mentioned.
Allow the AST cap time to dry thoroughly.
Never dip the AST cap in the cleaning fluid.
Cleaning fluid left in contact with the AST cap for too long can
attack the material from which it is made, stopping it from
functioning properly.
Use only 70 % ethanol or 70 % isopropanol to clean the AST cap.
Other substances used for cleaning may attack the plastic and
stop the cap from functioning properly.
