e) RF OUTPUT 1 connector
NOTICE
If this is the first time you will use a power amplifier in your station, pay attention to the
coaxial cable type from the amplifier's output to the antenna. It must handle the increased
power safely, particularly on the 4- and 6 meters bands. We recommend that you use
RG213 cable or better. Check the same for the antenna switch and tuner, as well as the
whole antenna system (especially multi-band trap antennas).
The RF OUTPUT 1 provides seamless integration with the auto-switching antenna tuners ACOM 04AT and
ACOM 06AT, for access from amplifier's front panel to 4 antennas having an SWR up to 3, in the 160 to
6 meter bands.
Connect a suitable coaxial cable with a PL-259 plug from the RF OUTPUT 1 (see Figure 2-3 | Rear panel -
Connections, Pos. (e)) to the ACOM 04AT or 06AT Automatic Antenna Tuner with Switch for operation on the
lower amateur bands 1.8 to 54 MHz (160 to 6 meters).
Leave RF OUTPUT 1 unconnected and use RF OUTPUT 2 if you do not have ACOM 04AT or ACOM 06AT tuner.

A well-matched antenna with an SWR below 1.5 can be connected to the RF OUTPUT 2 for any band. While
low SWR is good on any band, it is extremely important on 6 and 4 m.
Connect a suitable coaxial cable with a PL-259 plug from the RF OUTPUT 2 (see Figure 2-3 | Rear panel -
Connections, Pos. (f)) to the antenna for the respective frequency band.
If you use the ACOM 04AT or 06AT Automatic Antenna Tuner with Switch connected to RF OUTPUT 1 for
operation on the lower amateur bands from 1.8 to 54 MHz (160 to 6 meters), we suggest to connect your
antenna for 70-70.5 MHz (4-meter band) to the RF OUTPUT 2 connector. Switch between the two outputs
by assigning and unassigning the tuner in the USER PREFERENCES menu. Assign the tuner in order to select
the RF OUTPUT 1 for operation on 160 to 6 meters with the tuner or unassign it to select the RF OUTPUT 2
for operation on 70-70.5 MHz (4-meter band) with a well-matched antenna.
If you do not have an ACOM tuner available then you may leave RF OUTPUT 1 unconnected and use the
second connector RF OUTPUT 2 for all bands from 1.8 to 70.5 MHz (160 to 4 meters). You should change
antennas manually and they should be well matched to a SWR below 1.5 in this case. The ACOM 04AT and
06AT won't work from RF OUTPUT 2 so use another tuner to reduce SWR below 1.5 at RF OUTPUT 2.
