- Never run the engine without the air filter element in place.
Fouled air filters diminish the engine output due to reduced air supply to the carburettor.
Regular inspection is therefore essential:
1. Loosen the air filter cover and remove the sponge filter element.
2. Replace the air filter cover so that nothing falls into the air duct.
3. Wash the filter element in warm soapy water, rinse and allow to air dry.
Storing the product
Clean the product thoroughly after use. Store the product in a dry place and allow the
engine to cool down beforehand.

Cleaning

Risk of injury!
Unintended and unexpected start-up of the product may lead to injuries.
- Switch off the motor before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance work and af-
ter the motor has cooled down, disconnect the spark plug connector from the spark
plug.
NOTE!
Product damage!
If the product is not cleaned on a regular basis, grass residues may block the protection
cover. This can impair the performance of the product and cause damage in the long run.
- Clean the product with a cloth or a hand brush, etc.
- Do not immerse the product in water or any other liquid and do not wash it with a
high-pressure cleaner.
• Keep the handles free of oil so that you always have a secure grip.
• If necessary, clean the product with a damp cloth and, if necessary, with a mild flush-
ing liquid.
• Never immerse the product in water or other liquids for cleaning.
Transport
To transport the machine, empty the petrol tank as described in section "Draining Fuel".
Clean coarse dirt of the equipment with a brush or hand brush.

Storing the unit
After cutting, clean the unit thoroughly. Store the unit in a dry room allow the motor to
