1,3,5 - Analog Audio Input: Twelve (12) balanced audio inputs (3.81 mm Phoenix Contact, 6-pin),
routable to automatic echo cancellation (AEC) using ControlSpace
®
Designer software.
2 - Analog Audio Output: Eight (8) balanced audio outputs (3.81 mm Phoenix Contact, 6-pin)
4 - General-Purpose Control Inputs: Five (5) general-purpose input controls (3.81 mm Phoenix, 6-pin)
6 - General-Purpose Control Outputs: Five (5) general-purpose output controls (3.81 mm Phoenix,6-pin)
7 - ControlSpace Network Port: Connect to Bose
®
ControlSpace zone controllers and other third-party
controllers, using an RJ-45 connection.
8 - Dante Network Port: Dante digital audio (64 x 64 channel, 1 Gbps), using an RJ-45 connection.
9 - Digital/VoIP Telephone Connection: SIP 2.0-compliant, using an RJ-9 connection
10 - Micro-B USB Port: Connect to PC for soft codecs with stereo input and output
11 - USB Port: Not currently supported; available for future updates to ControlSpace EX-1280C
12 - Bose AmpLink Out: 8-channel uncompressed, zero-latency digital audio output
13 - Serial Port: 3-wire RS-232C (DTW) serial interface connection
14 - Telephone Line: Connect to analog telephone connections worldwide, using an RJ-11 connection.
15 - CC-16 Port: Connect to a Bose CC-16 zone controller or other control interfaces that use a RS-485
connection, such as the Bose ControlCenter CC-1, CC-2, or CC-3 zone controller.
16 - AC Mains Power Cord Connection: IEC 60320-C14 inlet.
Hardware Installation
To set up the ControlSpace EX-1280C for the rst time:
1. Download and install ControlSpace Designer software to a PC that is on the same local subnet that
the EX-1280C will be on.
2. Unpack the EX-1280C processor
3. Mount processor in rack
4. Make analog audio connections
5. Make remote control connections
6. Make GPIO connections
7. Establish network connection
8. Connect telephone line
9. Connect Micro USB
10. Connect power cord
11. Congure processor using ControlSpace Designer software
Note: Due to ventilation requirements, Bose does not recommend placing the product in a conned
space such as in a wall cavity or in an enclosed cabinet.
Compatible Controllers
The EX-1280C is compatible with Bose ControlSpace Remote and third-party controllers such as
Crestron
®
and AMX
®
, as well as Bose ControlSpace CC-16 and CC-64.
