Caveats in Cisco IOS XE 3.7S Releases

This section documents the unexpected behavior that might be seen with the Cisco ASR 903 Router in
Cisco IOS XE Release 3.7(5)S.
• CSCtq24011
Symptoms: The routers acts as though local proxy-arp is configured and does a proxy-arp for the
systems in the same subnet.
Conditions: This issue occurs when the router receives ARP request on an interface when the
interface is not fully initialized. The connected routes are not added in the routing table causing the
proxy-arp to reply and thus the wrong ARP is entered.
Workaround: Execute a shutdown followed by a no shutdown on the routers.

Symptom: Ping fails to remote MEP.
Conditions: This issue occurs on configure CFM and a ping to remote MEP with packet size greater
than 1478 bytes is performed.
Workaround: There is no workaround.

Symptom: Memory leaks are seen on configuring IP FRR remote LFA on the router.
Conditions: This issue occurs on configuring and un-configuring IP-FRR remote LFA on the router.
Workaround: There is no workaround.

Symptom: When IFM is configured on EVC BD, with encapsulation default in the core, the remote
MEPS are not learned.
Conditions: This issue is observed when encapsulation default is configured towards the core facing
side.
Workaround: There is no workaround.

Symptom: Segmentation faults observed on the router.
Conditions: This issue is seen when IMA, CEM and Serial are configured on different controllers
on the router and the image is loaded.
Workaround: Do not combine IMA, CEM and Serial configurations.

Symptom: Multiple priority commands get accepted per policy.
Conditions: This issue occurs when a policy-map with priority is configured in one of its classes.
Adding another class with policer first and then with priority causes this issue..
Workaround: There is no workaround.
• CSCud90362
Symptom: The SYNC packets might go out quite irregularly when PTP master (OC/BC) is
configured on the router.
Conditions: This issue occurs when the router is configured as PTP master.
Workaround: There is no workaround.
