2.4.1 Wiring IQ Gateway Commercial 2 ENV2-IQC2-AM3-3P for three-phase
applications
When installing the three-phase IQ Gateway Commercial 2 (model ENV2-IQC2-AM3-3P), make sure
the voltage configuration is 208 Y/120 V three-phase at the solar subpanel.
The production CTs and optional Consumption CTs may be installed if the following criteria can be met.
• Production CTs are limited to 400 A of continuous current. The internal aperture of the solid
core production CTs measures 43 mm and can support cables up to a maximum size of 1000
KCMil conductors.
• Consumption CTs are limited for electrical services up to 600 A. The internal aperture of the
split core CTs measures 50mm x 50mm and can support cables up to a maximum size of 300
KCMil conductors. CT wire insulation has a 600 V rating and maybe run alongside other
current-carrying conductors. Two 600 A Consumption CTs can be connected in parallel if
needed with a maximum of two CT wires per IQ Gateway Commercial 2 terminal block.
The following figure shows how to correctly wire an IQ Gateway Commercial 2 (model ENV2-IQC2-
AM3-3P) into a 208 Y/120 V three-phase system.

2.4.2 Design considerations for reliable PLC communications
Enphase IQ Microinverter systems use power line communications (PLC) to communicate module-level
data between the microinverters and the gateway. The PLC signal is at 110 kHz in an IQ8 Commercial
System. In a commercial-scale system, the IQ Gateway Commercial 2 is continuously polling the
microinverters for their recent power production, temperature, voltage, amperage, and frequency data.
