1.
Place the hydraulic breaker on timber support blocks.
The breaker box service opening must be facing up-
wards.
2.
Depressurise the hydraulic system before discon-
necting a hydraulic hose (see chapter Depressuris-
ing the hydraulic system).
3.
Remove the cover of the service opening.
4.
Connect the pressure gauge to the HP-accumulator
via the pressure line »P«.
5.
Close the tank line »T«.
You need an assistant to monitor the pressure
gauge.
WARNING Injury by impacts
A sudden movement of the carrier may cause your
assistant to be hit and injured by the boom or the hy-
draulic attachment.
u Only move the boom very slowly and in a con-
trolled manner while an assistant is within the
danger zone.
u Always keep sight of your assistant.
6.
Switch on the hydraulic breaker at the lowest possi-
ble engine rpm and mode level.
7.
Switch off the hydraulic breaker as soon as your as-
sistant indicates that the operating pressure (180bar
(2610psi)) is reached.
8.
Open the tank line »T« a little and slowly release
pressure.
9.
Watch the pressure gauge during the release proce-
dure. As soon as the gas pressure in the HP-accu-
mulator is reached, the indicator stops shortly and
then drops sharply to zero.
10.
Refilling is required if the gas pressure is lower than
50bar (725psi). Refilling must be performed by an
authorized person. Contact the Epiroc Customer
Center / dealer in your area.
7.12 Checking the hydraulic lines
n
Before starting your work shift, always carry out a vis-
ual check of all lines (pipes and hoses) from the
pump to the hydraulic attachment and from there to
the tank.
n
Tighten any loose screw connections or hose clamps.
n
Replace damaged pipes and/or hoses.
7.13 Checking and cleaning the
hydraulic oil filter
An oil filter must be integrated in the tank line of the hy-
draulic system. The maximum mesh width allowed for
the oil filter is 50microns; it must have a magnetic sepa-
rator.
n
Replace the oil filter cartridges after the first 50oper-
ating hours.
n
Check the oil filter every 500operating hours and re-
place as required.
7.14 Checking the adapter plate
and the breaker box for cracks
and/or wear
n
Check the adapter plate and the breaker box for
cracks every week.
n
Have rework activities or repairs carried out in time to
avoid major damage.
7.15 Checking the adapter plate
bolts for wear
n
Carry out this visual check whenever the hydraulic at-
tachment has been removed from the carrier.
n
Check the adapter plate bolts for excessive wear
such as cracks, pitting or severe erosion.
n
Rework or replace worn bolts.
