APPENDIX A INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS FOR UPGRADING
FROM A GARMIN GMA 340
NOTE
This appendix contains installation considerations for upgrading from a Garmin
GMA 340. This is not a set of comprehensive installation instructions for installing a
Garmin GMA 350/350H in place of a Garmin GMA 340. Read this manual in its entirety
before starting any installation.
A.1 Mechanical Considerations
• The GMA 340 installation rack is not compatible with the GMA 350/350H. Refer to Section 2 of
this manual for a list of installation materials.
• The GMA 340 backplate and connectors are compatible and may be reused, however the
GMA 340 backplate will need to be oriented to accommodate the GMA 350/350H. Refer to
Appendix B and C of this manual for proper backplate orientation.
A.2 Electrical Considerations
Refer to Table A-1 for a list of GMA 340 pins that may need to be modified to accommodate the
GMA 350/350H. Refer to Section 4 and Appendix C of this manual for a complete list of GMA 350/350H
pin functions and interconnect examples.
