disposeL
{{_iTurn the power switch (normally a wall switch)
to the off position before attempting to clear
a jam oi remove an object flom tim disposeL
_When attempting to loosen a jam in a waste
disposm, use a long wooden object such as
a wooden spoon oi the wooden handle of
a broom oi mop.
_When attempting to remove objects flom
a waste disposer, only use long-handled,
non-magnetic tools or utensils, since the
disposer may be actuated magnetically.
_To reduce the risk of ii_jury by materials that may
be expelled by a waste disposer, do not put the
following into a disposer:
a) Clam oi oyster shells.
b) Caustic drain cleaners oi similar products.
c) Glass, china oi plastic.
d) Large whole bones.
e) Metal, such as bottle caps, tin cans, utensils
oi aluminum foil.
f) Hot grease or other hot liquids.
g) Whole corn husks.
_When not opera6ng a disposm; leave the drain
stopper in place to reduce the risk of objects
falling into the disposer.

HOWTOCONNECTELECTRICITY
If you are not famifiar with electrical power and procedures, call a quafified electrician.
DANGER:lmproperconnectionofthe
equipment-groundingconductorcanresultina riskof electric
shock.Checkwith aquafifiedelectricianorservicemanif youare
in doubtastowhethertheapplianceisproperlygrounded.Do
notmodifytheplugprovidedwith theapplianceif it will notfit
theoutlet,haveaproperoutletinstalledbya quafified
electrician.
For Models Equipped with a Grounded Cord:
GROUNDINGINSTRUCTIONS:This appliance must
be grounded. In tim event of a malfunction or
breakdown, grounding provides a path of least
resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of
electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a
cord having an equipment-grounding conductor
and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged
into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed
and grounded in accordance with all local codes
and ordinances. Most houses have electrical outlets
under tim sink that are half-hot. This means one
outlet is controlled by the wall switch, while the
other is always hot. The batch-feed oi "TC" model
connects to the hot side, while the continuous feed
model connects to tim switch side.
