What to do if my GE JGBS86EPES Ranges burners do not light?
- GGabriela RodriguezAug 20, 2025
First, ensure the electric plug on the range is completely inserted in the electrical outlet and plugged into a live, properly grounded outlet. Also, verify that the gas supply is connected and turned on. Check the Installation Instructions that came with your range for guidance. Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker, if needed. Ensure burner parts are correctly replaced referring to the Care and Cleaning of the range section. Also, make sure that burner slots near the electrode, or the round lighter port on the oval burner, are not clogged. Remove the burners and clean them, checking the electrode area for burned-on food or grease. Lightly polish the flat tip of the electrode with a nail file or sandpaper until shiny if there is food residue.
