5. Installation
When installing pumps, types UPS(D) 32-xx, 40-xx,
50-xx and 65-xx, with oval bolt holes in the pump
flange, washers must be used as shown in fig. 3.

5.1 Tightening torque for bolt threads
We recommend these tightening torques for screws
used in flanged connections:
The pump must be installed with the motor shaft in
horizontal position. See fig. 4.
5.2 Flange forces and moments
For maximum permissible forces and moments from
the pipe connections acting on the pump flanges,
see fig. 21, page 331.

Arrows on the pump housing indicate the liquid flow
direction through the pump.
The automatic air vent is not supplied with the pump.
5.3 Terminal box positions
At the bottom close to the pump housing, the stator
housing has two drain holes (5 x 10 mm) to allow
condensed water to escape. The drain holes must
point downwards. See the arrows in fig. 5.
The air vent holes in the stator housing must not be
considered as drain holes.
Possible terminal box positions for single-head
pumps are shown in fig. 5. The positions apply to
mounting in both vertical and horizontal pipes.

Warning
The pump must be positioned so that
persons cannot accidentally come into
contact with the hot surfaces of the
pump.
