Children riding in vehicles should be
restrained to minimize the risk of
injury in the event of an accident.
The above illustration shows how
the tether strap should be routed
in EU countries.
Since a tether can provide additional
security to the lap/shoulder belt
installation, we recommend using a
tether whenever one is required or
available. (The owners may check
with the child restraint system
maker to determine whether a tether
is available for a particular child
restraint system.)
After properly securing the child
restraint system (see page or
), route the tether strap over
the seat-back and on both sides of
the head restraint as shown.A child restraint system with a tether
