Air Cleaner
The air cleaner should be serviced at
regular intervals (page 41). When riding in
dusty areas, service more frequently.
l. Remove the right side cover (2) by
unscrewing the screws (I). Remove
the element
{3).
2. Wash the element in non-flammable or
high flash point sol v ent and allow to
dry thoroughly.

* Never use gasoline or low fl ash point
solvents for cleaning the air cleaner
element. A fire or
expl osion could
result.
3. Soak the air cleaner element in clean
gear oil
(SAE 80 or 90) and squeeze
out the excess.
4. To install the air clea ner e lement,
reverse the removal procedure .
