Adjusting the settings of the device
HON 380 gas pressure regulator with HON 673/674 controller 36
6.2 Adjusting the throttle valve on the measuring line of the regulator
unit
The following changes in the gas pressure regulator’s control behavior can be
achieved by adjusting the throttle valve on the regulator unit:
If the gas pressure regulator exhibits sluggish control behavior, the response
times can be shortened.
If the gas pressure regulator’s dynamic control behavior is too fast and this
results in oscillations, the regulator unit’s reaction can be slowed down.
Additional information on control behavior changes can be found in the
HON General user manual.
If you want to speed up the regulator unit’s response behavior, follow the steps
below:
Figure Step Description
1 Unscrew the spacer nut a bit.
2
Use an Allen wrench to screw the
spindle (1) out turn by turn while
monitoring the regulator unit’s con-
trol behavior. Once you achieve the
regulator unit response you want,
stop changing the spindle’s position.
3 Tighten the spacer nut.
If you want to slow down the regulator unit’s response behavior, e.g., in the case
that there are oscillations, follow the steps below:
Figure Step Description
1 Unscrew the spacer nut a bit.
2 Use an Allen wrench to screw the
spindle (1) further in turn by turn
while monitoring the regulator unit’s
control behavior. Once you achieve
the regulator unit response you want,
stop changing the spindle’s position.
3 Tighten the spacer nut.
