5. Remove the fan control card cable (1).
6. Loosen the captive thumbscrew (2).
7. Slide the fan control card sideways to free it from the retaining pins and lift it out (3).
8. Insert the new fan control card and slide it sideways to engage it with the retaining pins.
9. Tighten the captive thumbscrew.
10. Attach the fan control card cable.
11. Install the enclosure cover and press the hood latch down to engage the latch.
12. Install the enclosure in the rack. See “Removing and replacing an enclosure” (page 64).
13. Tighten the front retaining screws.
CAUTION: The front retaining screws must be attached at all times when the enclosure
is racked.
14. Install the fan modules. See “Removing and replacing a fan module” (page 58)
15. Reconnect all cables to the enclosure, including the power cables.
16. When the enclosure has completed its power on sequence, check all enclosure status LEDs
to ensure the enclosure is operating properly.
Removing and replacing the power distribution board
This procedure should be performed only after HPE Support determines that the enclosure is
the source of the problem and recommends the power distribution board be replaced
CAUTION: This procedure requires removing the enclosure from the rack. Before removing
the enclosure, power down the HPE StoreOnce 5100 System as described in (page 30).
1. Disconnect all cables from the enclosure, including the power cables.
2. Remove the power supplies. See “Removing and replacing a power supply module” (page 57).
3. Remove the rear hold down bracket.
4. Remove the enclosure from the rack. See “Removing and replacing an enclosure” (page 64)
5. Pull the hood latch up and back (1 and 2), and lift the enclosure cover up and remove it (3).
