5 Operation and Maintenance
5.1 O&M Subsystem
5.1.1 Overview of the O&M Subsystem
The BTS3012 provides two maintenance methods:
z Terminal maintenance
z Remote maintenance
0 shows the topology of the O&M subsystem.

5.1.2 Terminal Maintenance
As shown in 0, local maintenance is implemented on the PC. The PC is
connected to the BTS3012 through the Ethernet cable.
You can operate and maintain the sites, cells, and TRXs through the local
maintenance.
5.1.3 Remote Maintenance
As shown in 0, remote maintenance is implemented through a PC. The PC forms
a network with the OMC, BSC, and BTS.
The remote maintenance uses Graphic User Interface (GUI) and topological view.
You can see the name, type, location, number, and running status of each NE in
the GUI interface.
You can view the detailed performance data, alarm data, and configuration data
of an NE.
You can also operate or maintain an NE through the topological view.
