Mower Blade Replacement
IMPORTANT: Refer to the Safety section of this manual for
blade handling safety information.
A 5/8" wrench is required to remove the 7/16" cap screw
holding the blade to the spindle shaft. NOTE: A blade holding
tool (part number 381442) is available from Hustler
®
Turf
Equipment. It is designed to prevent the blades from rotating
when they are being removed or installed on the spindle.
Contact your Hustler
®
Dealer for more information.
Do not re-use spindle bolts which have stripped, worn or
undercut threads. Torque bolts on spindles to 48 ft-lbs
(65 N•m) when reinstalling blades.
IMPORTANT: The blade sail (curved part) must be
pointing upward toward the inside of the deck to ensure
proper cutting.
IMPORTANT: The spindles have 5/8" diameter boss that
centers the blades on the spindles. When re-installing blades,
ensure that the blade is centered on the boss and seated flat
against the spindle shaft face.
Seat Adjustment
The seat on the Hustler
®
Raptor
®
mower can be adjusted
forward and rearward by pivoting the seat platform up and
forward. Then, loosen the four cap screws on the underneath
side of the seat platform. Position the seat where you have
the best control of the machine and are the most
comfortable and then tighten the cap screws. Figure 4-14
Steering Control Lever Adjustment
The steering control levers can be adjusted for operator
comfort.
A. To pivot the upper control levers forward or rearward,
loosen the cap screws that attach the upper control
lever to the lower lever. Then, pivot the upper control
lever. Tighten the cap screws. Figure 4-15
B. To lower and raise the control levers, remove the cap
screws. Slide the upper control lever up or down and
align the holes in it with the holes in the lower lever.
Re-install the cap screws and tighten.
Mower blades are sharp and can cut. Wrap the
blade(s) or wear gloves and use extra caution
when servicing them.
Failure to correctly torque the bolt may result in
the loss of the blade which can cause serious
injury.
Rotate the blades after installation to ensure blade
tips do not touch each other or sides of the
mower.
