Engine does not start

OPC cable not adjusted

Adjust OPC cable
Fill fuel tank
Drain carburetor float bowl
Clean or replace air filter
Tighten spark plug
Correctly fit the sark plug cap

Spark plug gap is incorrect
Carburetor is flooded with fuel
Faulty ignition module
Set plug gap to 0.7-0.8mm or
replace spark plug
Remove the air filter and pull
starter rope until carburetor
clears
Contact the service dealer
Engine difficult to start or loses
power
Dirt, water or stale fuel in tank
Vent hole in fuel tank filler cap is
clogged
Air filter element is dirty
Drain fuel and clean tank. Fill
with clean, fresh fuel
Clean or replace fuel tank cap
Clean or replace air filter

Engine operates erratically Spark plug is defective
Spark plug gap is incorrect

Fit new, correctly gapped spark

Set plug to 0.7-0.8mm

Take to a service dealer
NOTE - Where necessary, all corrective actions should be carried out by suitably qualified persons. If the
starter rope becomes disconnected from the rope guide on handle, disconnect the spark plug cap. Pull the
starter rope out from engine slowly and re-engage in guide. Re connect spark plug cap.
