Basic operations
Switch the speaker position mode to “S. SPK R” only when
you connect optional speakers (see pages 7 and 8).
1 Press AUDIO.
The system turns off.
2 Press and hold SETTING while
holding SHIFT.
The current setting appears on the display window.
3 Press SETTING while holding
SHIFT to select “S. SPK R”.
• S. SPK F (Initial setting): For speaker layout A.
• S. SPK R: For speaker layout
B. Select this only when
you connect optional speakers and place the speakers
as layout
B.
• The adjustment display automatically disappears a few
seconds later with the current setting.
NOTE
• If you disconnect optional speakers and place the speakers as
speaker layout A, switch the speaker position mode to “S.
SPK F”.
• As the speaker position mode is changed, the following
settings are also changed automatically:
– The output level settings of each speaker are initialized.
– The surround mode (see page 20) is set to “AUTO SUR”.
1 Press SPK-LEVEL to show the
target speaker indication on the
display window.
Each time you press the button, the indication of the
channel changes as follows:

2 Press LEVEL +/– to adjust the
output level from –6 to 6.
NOTE
• When the speaker position mode is “S. SPK R”, you can also
make adjustments by using the setup menu shown on the TV
screen. (See page 33.)
• These adjustments take effect for all sources.
You can adjust the balance between the front left and front
right speakers.
NOTE
• This function also takes effect for the sources other than
DVD.
• Before you start the operation;
There is a time limit when doing the following steps. If the
setting is canceled before you finish, start from step 1 again.
1 Press SETTING while holding
SHIFT.

2 Press Cursor 3/2 to make an
adjustment or selection.
