A
message
from
the
laboratory
Use
of
a
photo
coupler
to
separate
the
audio
and
control
systems
The
Kenwood
L-A1
amplifier
has
a
special
microcomputer
located
inside
to
handie
the
functioning
of
the
remote
control
unit.
However,
this
has
the
disadvantage
of
generating
noise
which
is
capable
of
adversely
affecting
the
audio
system.
That’s
why
we
designed
a
layout
where
the
power
unit
is
separated
from
the
power
transformer
and
where
all
relay
and
other
control
signals
are
sent
as
floating
transmissions
routed
through
the
photo
coupler.
This
complete
separation
of
the
audio
and
control
systems
makes
it
possible
to
eliminate
noise
from
this
microprocessor.
