5-5-7 Priority Alert Function
The
priority
alert
function
allows you
to
monitor
mem-
ory
channel 1
for
activity
even when you are tuned
to
a
different channel number. When the
Priority
Alert
function has
been
activated
the microprocessor will
switch the transceiver
to
the frequency stored in mem-
ory
channel 1 once every 5 seconds. The transceiver will
determine
if
a signal is present.
If
no signal
is
present
the transceiver will return
to
the original frequency.
If
a
signal is present, a beep will sound
from
the speaker
to
signal the channel
is
busy. This whole process takes
just
a fraction of a second, so you will
not
see
the display
frequency change. The only
thing
you will notice is a
momentary pause in the signal
on
the currently dis·
played frequency. To
activate
the
priority
alert func-
tion:
1.
Ensure the frequency you wish to
monitor
has
been
entered into memory channel 1.
2. Adjust the
SQL
control
to
the threshold point.
3. Press the F key momen-
tarily, and then press
