A DANGER
The battery comes in two types: refillable and non-
refill ab le.
• For using the refillable type battery, follow the
instr u ctions below.
Do not use or charge the battery if its fluid level
stands below the LOWER (l ower li mit level)
mark.
Otherwise, the battery component parts may
det e ri orate earlier than ex pected, whi ch may
shorte n the battery's service life or cause an
explosion.
Immediately, add distilled water until the
battery's fluid level is between the UPPER and
LOWER levels.
A CAU T IO N
To avo id personal injury:
• When the battery is bei ng activated, hydrogen
and oxygen gases in the battery are extremely
exp l osiv e. Keep op en spark s and fl am es away
from the battery at all times, espe cially when
c harging th e batte ry .
• When charging the battery, remove the battery
vent pl ugs.
• When disconnecting the cab le from the battery,
start wi th the negative terminal, and when
connecting them, s tart with the positive
termi nal first.
• DO NOT ch ec k the battery ch ar ge by placing a
meta l object ac r oss the terminals. Use a
voltmet er or hydrometer.
1. Make sure each electrolyte level is to the bottom of
vent wells, if necessary, add on ly distilled water in a
we ll -venti la ted place.

2. To slow charge the battery, connect the charger
positive terminal to the battery positive terminal, and
negative to the negative.
3. Quick recharging charges the battery at a high rate in
a short time. As this is only for emergencies.
4. Recharge the battery as early as possible, or battery
life wi ll be extremely shortened.
5. When exchanging an old battery into new one, use
battery of equal specification shown in page 26.

• Connect the charger positive terminal to the battery
positive terminal, and negative to the negative.
• When disconnecting the cab le from the battery, start
with the negati ve terminal first.
When connecting the cable to the battery, start with
the positive terminal fi rst.
If reversed, the contact of tools on the battery may
cause a short.
