3 Intended Use
Eleganza 4 is a positionable bed for intensive care. Its purpose is to support patient and to facilitate treatment and
manipulation with patient for nursing personnel. Eleganza 4 (only version with scales) is equipped with weighing system
designed for weighing patients. Eleganza 4 is compatible with mattresses approved by the manufacturer.
Eleganza 4 must be used exclusively by or under supervision of trained and qualied nursing personnel.
Eleganza 4 is suitable for:
■ Patients
□ Standard bed:
● With weight ≥ 40 kg
● With height ≥ 146 cm
● With BMI ≥ 17
□ Whose weight (including mattress and accessories) does not exceed the SWL
in long-term treatment (depending on bed type)
■ Personnel
□ qualied medical staff
□ patient (condition permitting)
■ Use
□ intensive/critical care units
□ hospital rooms
□ patient transport
■ Transport
□ in original bag
■ Medical purpose
□ support for patients in Eleganza 4 beds
■ Location
□ The bed is determined for application environment 1 and 2 according to IEC 60601-2-52.
Other uses of Eleganza 4 bed are not allowed!
3.1 Contraindications
Staff expert assessment is needed to consider all individual cases of contraindications!
Certain bed positions are not suitable for specic diagnosis/medical conditions. Fowler position is not suita-
ble for spinal cord injuries! Trendelenburg position is not suitable for patients with higher intracranial pressu-
re!
Length adjustment of the bed must be proportional to the height of patient!
Risk of trapping or squeezing because of patient´s body constitution disproportionate to the size of mattress
support platform!
