Pressurized expansion tank(s) is installed in the HT
cooling water system(s), to accomodate the differ-
ences in the water volume due to the changes in
the temperatures. Further, the pressurized expan-
sion tank(s) is maintaining a pressure of approxi-
mately 1 bar at the suction side of the pump(s). The
over pressure in the HT cooling system(s) prevents
the jacket water from locally boiling.
Cooling water treatment
The cooling water must be treated, maintained and
monitored in order to avoid corrosion.
