WARNING Risk of accident due to
adjusting vehicle settings while the vehi‐
cle is in motion
You could lose control of the vehicle in the
following situations in particular:
R
If you adjust the driver's seat, the head
restraints, the steering wheel or the mir‐
ror while the vehicle is in motion.
R
If you fasten your seat belt while the vehi‐
cle is in motion.

Before starting the engine: adjust the
driver's seat, the head restraints, the
steering wheel and the mirror and fas‐
ten your seat belt.
Ensure the following when adjusting steering
wheel 1, seat belt 2 and driver's seat 3:
R
You are sitting as far away from the driver's
airbag as possible, taking the following
points into consideration.
R
You are sitting in an upright position.
R
Your thighs are slightly supported by the seat
cushion.
R
Your legs are not fully extended and you can
depress the pedals properly.
R
The back of your head is supported at eye
level by the center of the head restraint.
R
You can hold the steering wheel with your
arms slightly bent.
R
You can move your legs freely.
R
You can see all the displays on the instru‐
ment cluster clearly.
R
You have a good overview of the traffic con‐
ditions.
R
Your seat belt sits snugly against your body
and passes across the center of your shoul‐
der and across your hips in the pelvic area.
