Introduction of the New V12 Biturbo Engine, M 279 AMG

The belt drive is a single-belt system and drives the
ancillaries coolant pump, alternator, ABC pump and
refrigerant compressor.
Due to the high dynamic requirements of the AMG
SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC with very short
response times, the belt pulley of the alternator is
fitted with a freewheel.
