SAFETY RESTRAINTS
PRECAUTIONS
The use of safety belts helps to
restrain you and your passengers
in case of a collision. In most
states and in Canada, the law
requires the use of safety belts.
To reduce the risk of
serious injury in a
collision, always drive and ride
with your seatback upright and
the lap belt snug and low across
the hips.
Safety belts must be worn
by all vehicle occupants to
be properly restrained and help
reduce the risk of injury in a
collision.
To prevent the risk of
injury make sure children
sit where they can be properly
restrained.
It is extremely dangerous
to ride in a cargo area,
inside or outside of a vehicle. In
a collision, people riding in these
areas are more likely to be
seriously injured or killed.
Do not allow people to
ride in any area of your
vehicle that is not equipped with
seats and safety belts.
