CAUTION
To avoid damaging the transducer, do not deflect the distal tip of the transducer by
direct application of force. Use the deflection wheels for this task.
4.3.3 Emergency Retraction
Ifthetransducertipshouldgetjammedinadeectedpositioninsidethepatient,andall
attemptstoreleasethedeectedtipshouldfail,followthefollowingproceduretoassurea
saferetractionofthetransducer.
1. Disconnectthetransducerfromtheultrasoundsystem.
2. Atanaccessiblelocationbetweenthetransducerhandleandthepatient,cuttheentire
endoscopeshaft,includingallinternalwiring,usingheavydutycuttingpliersoranother
suitable tool.
Thedeectionmechanismisnowreleasedandthetransducermaybesafelyretracted.
4.4 After Examinations
Aftertheexaminationiscompleted,turnOFFtheultrasonicdiagnosticsystem,removethe
bite-guardanddisconnectthetransducer,andthencleananddisinfectthetransducer.
Afterdisinfectingthetransducer,conrmthatthetransducerisingoodconditionandstoreit
inasuitableplace.
