Radio transmission
After the assignment of the individual
wireless thermostats to the heating
zones, control operation begins. Every
controller sends its coding, the set value
and the target value to the connection
unit. The coding is necessary for the
wireless connection unit to separate the
data.
Function indication of the heating zones
After the assignment, the heating zone indicator displays the cur-
rent switching state of the heating zone output. In most cases the
LED goes out, but may illuminate again a short time later since the
wireless connection unit starts controlling the room temperature.
The LED also lights up if the Basis unit still has not finished the rout-
ing for switching, which lasts 8 minutes (see start-up). The LED also
lights up if the Set button on the thermostat has been pressed sev-
eral times by accident during the allocation. In this case, the wireless
connection unit starts the radio test immediately after the allocation
process, i. e. the corresponding output is switched active for 1 min-
ute, independent from the control system.
Temperature Setback Mode:
When the Temperature Setback mode is active:
• the Basis reduces (in heating mode) the room temperature by 2 K
from the set target value.
• the Basis increases (in cooling mode) the room temperature by 2 K
from the set target value (HK module necessary).
Control Operation
Radio transmission
Install the Wireless Thermostat as described in the supplied manual. In order to verify a radio
transmission path, assign the Wireless Thermostats to the according heating zone from the place
of intended installation. Perform the radio transmission test if necessary.
Remove the tempera-
ture dial.
Note the room and
the heating zone on
the inscription field.
Install the thermo-
stat on the mounting
base.
Wireless Thermostat Installation
Passive interference:
Passive interference can
occur if the Basis Wireless
868 MHz is not installed
on the same floor as the
thermostats; if they are
separated by a reinforced
concrete partition with a
high steel proportion; or,
if there is an integrated
vapour lock made of alu-
minium foil in the ceiling
or a separating the wall.
Remedy 1:
The position of the wireless thermostats can
be changed. It may be possible to improve
the signal of the Wireless Thermostat by
changing the thermostat installation site.
Remember: installation location
with direct sunlight exposure, with
heating air or water are not recom-
mended.
Remedy 2:
The position of the Basis Wireless unit can-
not be changed due to the fixed position
of the heating circuit distributor. However,
the Basis unit can be optionally equipped
with an external receiver AB EX 4070. This
receiver has a 5 m (optionally 20 m) cable
and can be routed to places where all wire-
less thermostats can be received without
any troubles.
Fix the mounting base
to the wall.
