DTBU (damper option)
The system works as follows:
When you turn on the cooker hood, user selection 1 or 2 will be activated. The ventilation unit increases the ventilation level and sends
an output signal to the DTBU damper that it is to close for extraction from other rooms. However, the damper does not close complete-
ly and a reduced level of air extraction from other rooms will still take place.
The DTBU damper option it easy to connect up to Nilan’s CTS602 Connection Box.
If you want to run the cooker hood via the ventilation unit, there may be times when the air volume
is insufficient for cooker hood extraction.
You can solve this issue by introducing an EM-box. However, if there is not enough space in the in-
stallation for an EM-box, an alternative solution may be to install a DTBU damper in the duct sys-
tem. It works the same way except from the fact that it has no integral particle filter. You can,
however, buy a filter box with a steel filter that can be installed in the duct system.
The DTBU damper regulates the extract air, so that less air is extracted from other rooms such as
bathroom and utility room. This will ensure that there is enough air for the cooker hood to extract
efficiently.
ATTENTION
Information on connecting User selection output and GND can be found under: CTS602 Connection Box.
NB: Wire for 230V power supply for the DTBU damper is not included.
ATTENTION
If you want to connect the EM-box together with a fire automation system, you can find a solution in the section about
connection boxes for user selection and EM-box in the chapter titled “Fire Automation System”.
