cgm.3 system: medium voltage SF
6
gas-insulated
cubicles up to 38 kV according to IEEE and CSA standards
Storage
3. Storage
If they need to be stored, Ormazabal’s medium voltage
cubicles must be placed on dry ground or, if necessary, on
top of damp-proof insulating material, and always in its
original packaging.
After prolonged storage, clean all the insulating parts
carefully before commissioning the equipment. The
enclosure should be cleaned with a clean dry lint-free cloth.
Figure 3.1. Storage
Storage must always be INDOOR, which has the following
recommended conditions:
• The ambient air temperature shall not exceed 40 °C and
the average value, measured in a 24 hour period, shall
not exceed 35 °C.
• The ambient air temperature shall not drop below
• - 5 °C. Cubicles area also available with storage
temperature down to - 40 °C.
• The switchgear must be protected against direct solar
radiation.
• The altitude shall not exceed 2000 m.
• The ambient air must not be signicantly contaminated
due to dust, smoke, corrosive and/or inammable gases,
vapour or salt.
• The switchgear must be protected against rain and the
moisture conditions shall be as follows:
- The average value of the relative humidity, measured
in a 24 hour period, shall not exceed 95 %.
- The average value of the water vapour pressure,
measured in a 24 hour period, shall not exceed
2.2 kPa.
- The average value of the relative humidity, measured
in a one month period, shall not exceed 90 %.
- The average value of the water vapour pressure,
measured in a one month period, shall not exceed
- 1.8 kPa.
• During transportation, vibrations caused by external
forces or due to seismic movements shall be insignicant.
The equipment must be adjusted to the existing atmospheric
pressure. Otherwise, the manometer needle may indicate
an incorrect value (red scale) even if the equipment internal
pressure is correct.
