INSTALLATION
When
installing
the
deck,
avoid
locations
with
high
temperature
or
humidity,
and
be
sure
that
the
loca-
tion
is
well
ventilated.
Do
not
install
the
deck
in
locations
subject
to
direct
sunlight,
or
next
to
a
space
heater
or
other
heating
device,
since
the
finish
or
internal
parts
may
be
affected
adversely.
Malfunctions
may
also
result
if
the
unit
is
installed
in
a
humid
or
dusty
location.
Also
avoid
installations
next
to
kitchen
counters
or
other
places
subject
to
oily
smoke.
@
If
you
place
the
unit
directly
on
top
of
an
amplifier,
it
may
pick
up
humming
or
other
noise.
Also,
if
the
amplifier
generates
a
Jarge
amount
of
heat,
the
unit
may
break
down.
@
if
you
place
the
unit
near
a
television
set,
it
may
pick
up
noise
which
may
be
recorded
as
a
whistling
tone
on
the
tape.
In
such
a
case,
either
install
the
unit
away
from
the
television
set
or
switch
OFF
the
television
set.
NOTE:
When
installing
the
cassette
deck,
do
not
place
a
cloth
over
the
top
or
block
the
ventilation
openings
in
any
other
way
while
unit
is
ON.
DEW
CONDENSATION
When
the
unit
is
moved
from
a
cold
to
a
warm
room,
or
the
tem-
perature
changes
quickly,
condensation
will
form
on
the
mechani-
cal
parts
and
this
will
affect
the
performance
of
the
tape.
In
such
cases,
leave
the
unit
in
a
warmer
atmosphere
for
about
one
hour
or
change
the
room
temperature
gradually.
POWER-CORD
CAUTION
Handle
the
power
cord
by
the
plug.
Do
not
pull
out
the
plug
by
tugging
the
cord
and
never
touch
the
power
cord
when
your
hands
are
wet
as
this
could
cause
a
short
circuit
or
electric
shock.
Do
not
place
the
unit,
a
piece
of
furniture,
etc.,
on
the
power
cord,
or
pinch
the
cord.
Never
make
a
knot
in
the
cord
or
tie
it
with
other
cords.
The
power
cords
should
be
routed
such
that
they
are
not
likely
to
be
stepped
on.
A
damaged
power
cord
can
cause
fire
or
give
you
an
electrical
shock.
Check
the
power
cord
once
in
a
while.
When
you
find
it
damaged,
ask
your
nearest
PIONEER
authorized
service
center
or
your
dealer
for a
replacement.
